Exhibition Of Latrobe City Council Plan 2012-2016

Latrobe City Council, on behalf of the community, has identified its vision and key themes to shape the future of Latrobe City.

By Latrobe City - 27th April 2012 - Back to News

Latrobe City Council has prepared its draft Council Plan for 2012-2016 to recognise a range of local and nationally significant issues and emerging opportunities set to influence the direction of employment, industry and shape Latrobe City’s future.

Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Ed Vermeulen, said that Councils are required under the Local Government Act 1989 to prepare a four year Council Plan and review it annually.

"A Council Plan should establish the objectives of Council for its community and outline strategies, activities and services to be achieved over a four year period. Latrobe City Council has identified that our draft plan should reflect what is happening at a national and regional level in order to maximise opportunities for our community.

"We would encourage the community to take some time and read the draft plan. It is our vision for the community, and the community should be involved and engaged," Cr Vermeulen said.

The draft Council Plan 2012-2016 will be available to view from Thursday 26 April 2012 until Wednesday 23 May 2012, during office hours (8.30am to 5.15pm) at our service centres in Moe, Morwell, Traralgon and Churchill and is also available on Council’s website at www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/HaveaSay/.

Anyone who would like to make a written submission in response to the draft Council Plan 2012-2016 must do so by 5pm on Wednesday 23 May 2012. Submissions should be addressed to The Chief Executive Officer, Latrobe City Council, PO Box 264 MORWELL VIC 3840.
