By Karen Gregory - 23rd July 2002 - Back to News

Successful Australian author David Metzenthen will talk about his books and life as a writer at Sale Community Library from 7 – 8pm on Wednesday 31 July.

David is a popular author of children and young adult fiction. Many of his books have won or been short-listed for major literary awards.

While in Gippsland he will visit selected branches of Wellington Library Service to present a series of talks to students. The author will speak about his work and provide tips to encourage readers with their own creative writing.

The visit forms part of the "Writers on the Road" program, which takes contemporary Australian writers to public libraries throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.

It is the third time that Wellington Library Service has participated in the program. Previous visits have included adult authors, Rodney Hall & Jane Sullivan (May 2002) & Liam Davidson & Gary Disher (October 2001).

"Writers on the Road" is an initiative of the State Library of Victoria for the Victorian Public Library network.
