Council Agendas To Be Available Earlier

From the end of April the agenda for all Latrobe City Council’s ordinary meetings will be available to the public earlier.

By Latrobe City - 30th April 2013 - Back to News

The changes will come into effect for the meeting to be held on Monday 6 May with the agenda being available from Tuesday 30 April.

Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Sandy Kam, said that the changes have been incorporated following feedback received by Councillors.

"The community expressed a desire to be able to read the reports which will be discussed by Council earlier in the lead up to the meeting. By releasing the agenda on Tuesday this allows nearly a week for the community to understand the issues and be prepared should they wish to attend the meeting.

"Allowing more time to review the agenda will provide a greater opportunity for the community to take part in the democratic process," Cr Kam explained.

"We hope that this change makes it easier for the community to be involved in Council proceedings and allows more time to absorb the items on the agenda before the meeting date," Cr Kam concluded.
