Holiday fun for kids at local libraries

Wellington Shire Council has organised plenty of fun, free activities at local libraries to keep the kids entertained over the school holidays.

By news@gippsland - 31st December 2003 - Back to News

As part of the Council’s Holiday fun @ your library program, local libraries are hosting Beach Parties during January, with children invited to go along with their bathers and a towel to sit on and join in the entertainment. There will be beach movies, stories and games, along with the chance to create personalised 2004 calendars and crafts.

There is no need to book in advance. Simply turn up on the day. The dates and locations to remember are:

8 January Loch Sport (mobile library stop) 11.00am

12 January Stratford Library 2.00pm

13 January Sale Library 10.30am

13 January Heyfield Library 2.00pm

14 January Maffra Library 2.00pm

15 January Yarram Library 2.00pm

16 January Rosedale Library 11.00am

There are also great prizes on offer to kids taking part in the Get Caught Reading summer reading club, which continues through to 23 January. Prizes up for grabs include a personal CD player, book voucher, camping equipment, books and videos.

Said Wellington’s Mayor John Jago: "With all the events on offer at local libraries across the Shire there is plenty for children to do during the school holidays. And the best bit is that the activities organised are free, fun and safe."
