Stoke City Fc To Conduct Soccer Coaching Clinics Local soccer enthusiasts will get a taste of the big time when English Premier League club Stoke City FC conduct soccer clinics at the Latrobe City Sports and Entertainment Stadium in Morwell on the weekend By Latrobe City - 2nd December 2011 - Back to News of 10 and 11 December 2011.
Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Darrell White, said that the coaching clinics were a result of the international connections developed by Latrobe City’s events team.
"Latrobe City has a proud history in soccer and the Latrobe City events team has built on that reputation to ensure that local teams have access not only to soccer action with the recent run of Melbourne Heart games, but also to top quality development opportunities such as these coaching clinics and the Australian Football Skool State Championships being held in Morwell from 16 to 18 December.
"Coaches from the Stoke City FC Academy will be conducting the coaching clinics as well as ‘coach the coach’ sessions. This will be a great opportunity for our local soccer players and officials to get an insight into the training methods used by the top clubs in English Premier League," Cr White explained.
"Each camp will consist of 12 hours of intense training where players will be coached, monitored and offered feedback by the Stoke City FC entourage. Each participant will also receive a training ‘guernsey’ and a Stoke City FC pack.
"On top of that, one lucky participant will be given the chance of a lifetime with an all expenses paid trial at the Stoke City FC Academy in England. This is a much coveted prize and will be cherished by the recipient," Cr White said.
The Stoke City FC Academy is a new state-of-the-art training complex based in Clayton Wood, England. This £7 million facility caters for the academy and first team squads and features grass fields, synthetic pitches, nine changing rooms, a gymnasium, hydrotherapy suite, medical facilities, dining area and administrative offices.
