Exhibition Of Draft Latrobe City Council Plan 2011- 2015 The Latrobe City Council draft Council Plan 2011-2015 is now on public exhibition. By Latrobe City - 9th May 2011 - Back to News Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Darrell White, said that Latrobe City Council, on behalf of the community, has identified its vision and key themes to shape the future of Latrobe City over the next four years.
"Local Government Act 1989 requires Council to prepare a four year Council Plan and review it annually. A Council Plan establishes the objectives of Council for its community and outlines strategies, activities and services to be achieved over a four year period.
"The Latrobe City Council draft Council Plan 2011 - 2015 recognises a range of local and nationally significant issues and emerging opportunities set to influence the direction of employment, industry and shape Latrobe City’s future," Cr White said.
"This year’s report highlights and focuses on four key themes that will shape the future of our region; Latrobe as Gippsland’s regional city, Latrobe positioned for a low carbon future, an active, connected and caring community and attracting, retaining and supporting investment in our region," Cr White explained.
Mr Buckley said that the draft council plan was developed in response to Latrobe 2026: The Community Vision for Latrobe Valley.
"Anyone who would like to make a submission in response to the draft Council Plan 2011 – 2015 is encouraged to do so. Community feedback is a very important part of the council plan process," Cr White concluded.
Written submissions must be received by 5.00 pm, 1 June 2011 and should be addressed to The Chief Executive Officer, Latrobe City Council, PO Box 264 MORWELL VIC 3840.
The draft Council Plan 2011–2015 commenced exhibition on the 4th May 2011 and will conclude on the 1st June 2011. Copies of the draft Council Plan are available for viewing during normal office hours at the Latrobe City Council service centres in Moe, Morwell, Traralgon and Churchill and is also available from Council’s website at www.latrobe.vic.gov.au
Council will consider any written submissions in relation to the Council Plan 2011-2015 at the Ordinary Meeting of Council at 7.00 pm on Monday, 6 June 2011 in the Nambur Wariga Meeting Room, at Latrobe City Council Corporate Headquarters, Morwell.
