"Secret Mens Business" Looking For New Members

The self-titled group of men is one of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Planned Activity Groups

By Carol McCormack - 30th July 2002 - Back to News

"Secret Men’s Business" is looking for new members! The self-titled group of men is one of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Planned Activity Groups. The members live on Phillip Island and at San Remo.

"The group meets every Tuesday from 10 o’clock to around 2 o’clock," said Jackie Rees, Planned Activity Group Coordinator with Council.

"The group does a broad range of activities," said Jackie. "Some weeks we have activities such as quizzes and woodwork at the Senior Citizens Hall, while other weeks we have outings to places of interest in the Shire or bbqs and picnics."

Jackie said that Planned Activity Groups were a good way for older residents to socialise and enjoy interesting activities.

Group members pay $9 each week, which includes lunch and transport to and from their home. People who are eligible for Council’s Home and Community Care (HACC) Services are eligible to take part in the planned activity group.

For more information about joining "Secret Men’s Business", contact Jackie Rees at Bass Coast Shire Council on 5951 3311 or 5671 2211.
