Latrobe City Want Feedback On The Traralgon Indoor Aquatics And Leisure Centre Feasibility Study

Latrobe City has given the Traralgon community a greater opportunity to provide feedback on the Traralgon Indoor Aquatics and Leisure Centre Feasibility Study.

By Latrobe City - 17th September 2010 - Back to News

The community feedback period has been extended from 5 November until 3 December; and a further community information session will be held on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at the Traralgon Little Theatre from 7.30pm.

Three community information sessions have already been held, one session with the residents of Hubert Osborne Park, one session with the residents of Catterick Crescent Reserve and one general community session. There have also been individual meetings with key stakeholder groups. The information sessions that have been held so far have had a strong level of interest from the community, hence the decision to hold an extra session on Tuesday 26 October 2010.

Latrobe City general manager recreational and cultural liveability, Grantley Switzer, said the deadline to receive feedback was pushed back to enable the community a greater chance to respond.

"Council want to give the community as much time, and information, as possible regarding the feasibility study. The more the community know about the study, the more they will be able to provide meaningful feedback. The feedback process is designed to allow Council to take into account the community’s views and suggestions, which will assist them in making an informed decision about the future of the project," Mr Switzer said.

"As well as the further community information session, Council Officers will be on hand to discuss the feasibility study at Stockland Shopping Centre, Traralgon; from 9am to 1pm on Saturday 2 October, Saturday 9 October, and Saturday 16 October," Mr Switzer concluded.

A copy of the feasibility study is now available from all Latrobe City Council leisure centres and service centres and via Council’s website www.latrobe.vic.gov.au. Community comment on the study can be given via the website.

Written submissions will also be welcomed and can be addressed to: General Manager Recreational and Cultural Liveability, Latrobe City Council, PO Box 264, Morwell 3840. Any submission must be received prior to close of business Friday 3 December 2010.

All submissions will be considered public documents unless specified otherwise by the submitter.
