Nominate Now For The Rural Women’S Award Member for Morwell Russell Northe has encouraged local women in primary industries who are passionate about their work and their community to nominate for the 2014 Rural Women’s Award. By Russell Northe - 22nd August 2013 - Back to News Mr Northe said the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDIC) Rural Women’s Award provided opportunities for rural women in leadership roles to enhance their industry networks and grow their leadership capacity.
"Nominations for the 2014 award are now open and I encourage women in the Gippsland region who are passionate about a primary industry and have vision for rural Victoria to apply," Mr Northe said.
"The Victorian winner receives a $10,000 bursary to help support her leadership development, while both the winner and runner-up will attend the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course in Canberra.
"These are significant opportunities for both career and personal development.
"The bursary has helped past winners to fund leadership and business management training, overseas study tours, establishing business, developing educational or promotional campaigns, networking at forums and conferences, testing information technology initiatives and publishing books."
Mr Northe said nominations for the 2014 Rural Women’s Award were open until 31 October.
