Night Rider Bus Service Extended To Churchill

Latrobe City’s Night Rider bus service which provides late night transport to Morwell, Moe and Newborough for Traralgon entertainment precinct patrons, has been extended to include a Churchill run.

The Churchill service will leave the Traralgon Centre Plaza at 3.30am Sunday mornings and drop off passengers at Monash University and the Churchill shopping centre.

The service will commence this coming Sunday, 29 March.

The service to Mid Valley, Morwell Railway Station, Gunns Gully and Moe Railway Station will continue to be provided at 2.30am and 4.30am on Sundays from the Traralgon Centre Plaza.

Latrobe City mayor, Cr Lisa Price, said the Night Rider bus service had proved popular to date.

"Thirty passengers took advantage of the service the first night it ran and numbers increased last weekend. Local taxi services from Morwell and Moe met the buses to provide a continued service to the patron’s homes," Cr Price said.

The Night Rider service aims to help people get off the streets and home as quickly as possible from entertainment venues, and is designed to increase safety within the Traralgon CBD. The service should also provide an incentive for those going to late night venues to leave their vehicles at home.

Coupons to use the service can be pre-purchased for $5 and are available through any Latrobe City service centre or from Traralgon entertainment venues.
