Latrobe City’s chief executive officer, Paul Buckley, said the review clearly demonstrated council's strong financial position, due to prudent financial management.

"The key financial indicators and ratios continue to be well within government guidelines and there have been no significant variances experienced in the first half of 2005/06," Mr Buckley said.

"The sound financial position has resulted in council being able to allocate some additional finances, such as to enable additional car parking, landscaping and safety works at the Traralgon Sports Stadium, the access for all abilities toilets at Moe Apex Park, and an upgrade to the Ted Summerton Reserve in Moe where additional lighting will be installed.

"The organisation has tracked extremely well during the financial year to date. Everything is on course for council to meet its projected financial goals.

"The sound financial position of council will provide a strong foundation for council to continue to contribute to the vision of Latrobe City and the community," Mr Buckley added.
