New Communications Coordinator For Bass Coast

Eleanor McKay is the new Communications Coordinator for Bass Coast Shire Council.

Council has a designated communications team working to continuously improve communications with the community.

"Eleanor’s experience in State Government, media and communications will be a valuable asset for the Shire," said Bass Coast Shire Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Allan Bawden.

Most recently, Ms McKay worked as Arts Officer for Arts Victoria, part of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Prior to her work in State Government, Ms McKay spent 15 years at Melbourne based independent record label Mushroom Records, working in a variety of roles, including General Manager, National Promotions Manager and Marketing Manager.

"Community consultation and communication are an essential function of Council," stated Mr Bawden. "A fully resourced Communications team will allow us to focus on continuously improving in this key area."

A frequent visitor to the area in the past 12 months, Ms McKay has now settled on Phillip Island and is looking forward to being involved with the local community through her role at Council.

Ms McKay will be working closely with Communications Officer, Louise Alexander, to expand and improve Council’s communications with the community.
