Latrobe Valley businesses on show in State Parliament

Some of the Latrobe Valley’s most innovative businesses will be on show in the Victorian Parliament this week as part of 'Love Latrobe', an exhibition that celebrates and promotes the successes of our local business community.

The exhibition, to be hosted by Nationals’ Member for Morwell Russell Northe, will see local businesses and organisations from across the region on display in Parliament.

"The Love Latrobe exhibition will provide an opportunity for our community to promote local events and showcase local businesses and companies that are doing extraordinary things across our region and beyond," Mr Northe said.

"This exhibition is an opportunity to highlight to all Members of Parliament, and to the hundreds of visitors who will come through Parliament this week, that the Latrobe Valley has a strong future and many vibrant industries and businesses.

Mr Northe said 'Love Latrobe' would bring the Valley’s unique local businesses together at a time when many people in our community were reeling from the closure of Hazelwood and a number of other local businesses.

"Unfortunately we have seen the closure of a number of businesses in our region these past two years, and this has not been helped by the current State Government through its policy and budget settings," Mr Northe said.

"However I do believe we have a strong future and the Valley’s contribution to Victoria and beyond should be celebrated and promoted and that’s why I’m proud to host this event.

"I encourage visitors to the Parliament this week, to stop by and speak with some of our local businesses and organisations on show and see what they have to offer."

Businesses participating in Love Latrobe week include:

  • Australian Paper
  • Mahindra Aerospace
  • Narkoojee Winery
  • Safetech
  • Latrobe City Council / Latrobe Visitor Information Centre / Latrobe City Business Tourism Association
  • The View From Here
  • Latrobe Valley Enterprises
  • Gippsland Trade Printers
  • Morwell SES

  • Love Latrobe is open to the public and will run from Tuesday 6 June to Thursday 8 June between 9am and 5pm.
