Lucky Renee wins new bicycleLucky young Traralgon girl, Renee Jones, was presented with a new bicycle this week, after her name was drawn from all the entries in Latrobe City’s Family Fun Day Bike Ride held on 7 August. By Latrobe City Council - 18th August 2005 - Back to News Latrobe City Councillor, Peter Tyler, said that the Family Fun Day was held to celebrate the Tour of Gippsland’s final stage – the kermesse event in Traralgon.
"Many people braved the elements on that wet and windy Sunday, to enjoy the Fun Day and cheer on the riders in the kermesse. All those who took part in the bike ride were entered into the draw for the bike and Renee was lucky enough to be pulled from the hat first," Cr Tyler explained.
Cr Tyler presented Renee, a student at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School, with her prize at the Service Centre in Kay Street, Traralgon.
