Community and Economic Development Director, Steven Piasente, said there had been a lot of interest in the exhibition since the official launch on 3 September. "Originally the exhibition was only scheduled to open Monday to Friday; however there has been such a good response we are extending the opening hours to include the weekend," explained Mr Piasente".

"This will allow more people to view the exhibition, including people who work full time and our many weekend visitors.
"There are some very accomplished artists represented in our new acquisition exhibition presentation, which is proving to be a draw card.
"We want to make the show as accessible as possible to raise awareness about our art acquisition program and Council’s excellent permanent art collection," said Mr Piasente.

At the launch of the exhibition, Matthew Petrucci’s painting "Cypress Pine, Archies Creek" was awarded the $5,000 Bass Coast Art Acquisition Award. The four other exhibiting artists received an award of $1,000 each. They are Ramon Horsfield, Cynthia Phelan, Peter Walker and Diana Wilson.
The Bass Coast Acquisitive Art Exhibition is showing at the Inverloch Community Hub, 16 A’Beckett Street, Inverloch.

The exhibition is now open at the weekends, Monday to Sunday 11.00am to 5.00pm until 29 September
