The brochure - A Touring Guide to Arts, Culture & Heritage - covers Wellington and East Gippsland shires and features 43 key cultural tourism locations from galleries and public art sites, to wineries and accommodation.

It was launched at the Affordable Art Show at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton by Federal Minister for Gippsland Mr Peter McGauran, to generate tourism interest from both inside and outside the region.

Creative Gippsland is an award winning initiative involving six of the seven Gippsland shires and operates in partnership with local tourism, arts and cultural sectors to promote Gippsland to new visitors.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "This is a great initiative that recognises the vibrant and active cultural community we have here in Wellington, adding a new, exciting dimension to our tourism drive for visitors to the region."

The brochure will be available from Visitor Information Centres and various tourist locations throughout the shire. More information is available by telephoning Wellington Shire Council on 1300 366 244.
