Known as ‘Operation Goodwill’, police and Latrobe City staff will be manning a police mobile display unit in Commercial Road near the underpass on the next five Thursdays.

Latrobe City’s manager family services, Peggy Stevenson, said police uniform members, including officers from the Traffic Management Unit, Crime Prevention Office and Neighbourhood Watch, will be available to talk about a range of safety issues.

"Latrobe City bylaws and citizen services officers will be available to discuss a range of council services being offered, including safety advice," Ms Stevenson said.

‘Operation Goodwill’ will operate every Thursday for five weeks commencing on 26 April and operate between the hours of 10.30am - 3.30pm.

Senior Sergeant Ross, officer in charge Morwell Police Station, said that ‘Operation Goodwill’ is a great opportunity to engage with the local community, and encouraged shoppers, and transport users - both bus and rail, to have a general chat about a range of community safety issues.

"‘Operation Goodwill’ is also an opportunity for other community groups and organisations to become involved," Senior Sergeant Ross said.

Community groups and organisations are welcome to contact Senior Sergeant Howard Jones on 5131 5059 or Senior Constable Brett Godden on 5131 5085 for further details.
