A snapshot of some of the decisions made by Council at their Ordinary Meeting on Monday 19 June.

Advocacy

Noted and supported Australian Paper�s Waste to Energy Project.

Agreed to write to the Prime Minister and Premier seeking a commitment of $2.5M from each level of government to start a feasibility study and business case for the Australian Paper Waste to Energy Project.

Community

Resolved to request the Chief Executive Officer facilitate a future review of the Mathison Park, Churchill Master Plan 2002, to identify the Park�s future strategic direction as a regional park, as identified in the 2002 Master Plan.

Endorsed the Ted Summerton Reserve as a site for the development a Regional Cricket Hub.

Resolved to release the following draft Plans for public exhibition:

draft Domestic Animal Management Plan

draft Recreation Needs Assessment and associated documents

draft Road Asset Management Plan

Endorsed a minor reconfiguration of car parking spaces in the Moe CBD (without reducing the number of parking spaces).

Endorsed reducing the number of car parking spaces in Moore St, Moe (between Haigh and Albert) subject to gaining support of local businesses.

Agreed to invite public submissions on the renaming of Crinigan Road West, Morwell to Alliss Road.

Agreed to invite public submissions on the renaming of the Tyers Recreation Reserve to Baillie Reserve; and the unnamed entrance road Community Lane.

Endorsed the delivery of an Individual Support Funding Program.

Approved sponsorship for Latrobe City Energy Basketball Club; Gippsland FM and the Gippsland Community Network Events.

Decisions and reports

Adopted the Budget 2017-18.

Adopted the Council Plan 2017-21, Strategic Resource Plan 2017-21.

Adopted the Drainage Asset Management Plan 2016.

Adopted the Community Compliance and Enforcement Policy.
