The highly anticipated Dalyston Netball Court and Change Pavilion Project is underway. Female friendly facilities fund
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said the Female Friendly Facilities Fund is a terrific initiative from the State Government that enables women and girls to be more active, more often. "We would like to thank the State Government for its substantial financial commitment to this project, which will help ensure the long term sustainability of the Dalyston Football Netball Club," Cr Tessari said.
"This project is just another example of Council’s commitment to recreation and the positive relationship it has with the State Government, which helps fund great initiatives like these." The Dalyston Football Netball Club will benefit from the complete overhaul of the existing facilities, which includes the reconfiguration of the two existing courts to meet Netball Victoria compliance guidelines, as well as the installation of new fencing, lighting and player shelters.
Renewal of all of Council’s netball facilities
In addition to the court upgrade, a new netball pavilion will be built that will include change rooms for:
- Accessible change space
- Kitchenette
- Medical room
- Multi-purpose space and public amenities
- Players and umpires
Cr Tessari said that it is really important to provide high quality sporting facilities for the community. "This significant project completes the renewal of all of Council’s netball facilities, with Wonthaggi, Cowes, Bass and Inverloch having been completed over recent years."
Cr Tessari also said, "Now each facility boats at least two fully compliant courts, supporting the future growth of the game in Bass Coast." The Dalyston upgrade is expected to be completed in time for the 2021 netball season in March.
