Two Succeeding in Tourism seminars are being organised, which will explore topical issues currently affecting the industry in Gippsland. Local businesses connecting with tourism in any way are invited to attend. The events are being held on Tuesday 2 March, from 9.40am-4.30pm at the Century Inn in Traralgon and Wednesday 3 March from 9.40am-4.30pm at the Bellevue in Lakes Entrance.

The program comprises six workshops covering such areas as target marketing- presented by Tourism Victoria, and maximising e-commerce – presented by Telstra Country Wide. Keynote speaker is international wine-marketing expert Terry Hickey, who is owner-operator of the State Tourism Award winning Kirkside Cottages.

Said Wellington’s Chief Executive Officer Lyndon Webb: "Tourism has a very important part to play in the economy of the shire both currently and as we look to its future development. These seminars recognise this significance and we would encourage anyone with a tourism connection, who thinks they may benefit, to go along."

The seminars are being funded by Tourism Victoria and the Gippsland Area Consultative Committee and promoted through the successful Experience Gippsland program.

The cost is $25 per person and transport can be arranged. Bookings and further information can be obtained by telephoning 5175 0600 or emailing admin@gippslandacc.com.au.
