New Arts and Culture Committee looking for membersAre you passionate about arts and culture in Bass Coast? By Portal Admin - 4th July 2017 - Back to News At the June Ordinary Meeting, Bass Coast Shire Council endorsed the formation of an Arts and Culture Advisory Committee following a recommendation in the Arts and Culture Plan 2015-19 and is now calling for expressions of interest from community members.
The Committee will be made up of people with a diverse range of interests and expertise that represent a balance across the disciples.
This includes visual arts and crafts, exhibition management, multimedia arts, public art, performing arts, dance, music, written word, marketing and heritage.
Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Pamela Rothfield, said Council is looking for people with a direct association with, and deep understanding of, the arts and cultural aspects of the Bass Coast community.
"The Committee needs people who are passionate about a community that showcases its arts and encourages participation from all," Cr Rothfield said.
"We need people whose vision can also lead and inform the Councils Arts and Culture Plan. Council has a vision of a culturally vibrant community where arts, culture and creativity link people through shared activities, creating stronger communities and connections to the place for residents and visitors."

Expressions of Interest will close on Friday, 28 July 2017.
