New Look Centrelink In Morwell Morwell’s refurbished Centrelink Customer Service Centre will be officially opened tomorrow. By Peter McGauran - 21st August 2007 - Back to News Nationals Member for Gippsland Peter McGauran will conduct the official opening at 10.30am at the new improved centre on the Corner of Eglin and Chapel streets, in Morwell.
"The upgraded Customer Service Centre is typical of Centrelink’s new style of open plan with more interview points for customers," Mr McGauran said.
"The office includes a larger, open plan design with more reception points for improved customer privacy and comfort.
"It is fitted out with the latest technology so that staff can provide the most efficient and accurate service possible."
Morwell Centrelink provides a full range of services including social work services, multicultural services and the Centrelink Financial Information Service.
"Centrelink has been delivering the Federal Government’s Disaster Recovery Payments and there is a Rural Services Officer working from Morwell to assist with drought support payments," Mr McGauran said.
The new Morwell Centrelink also offers self-service facilities, which means customers can conduct their Centrelink business on line or by phone without the need to stand in a queue.
Mr McGauran congratulated staff for the smooth transition during the refurbishment. The new look centre has been operational since late June.
