Coalition Government Delivers Boost For Traralgon Racing Club Raceday
Three race days at Latrobe Valley Racing Club have been given a kick-along thanks to the Victorian Coalition Government¡¦s support for two major country racing campaigns during the Spring Carnival
and in the lead up to Christmas.
Member for Morwell Russell Northe said Latrobe Valley Racing Club will share in $300,000 announced by the Premier Denis Napthine at the Victorian Country Racing Awards. Country race clubs and Country Racing Victoria are providing a further $552,000.
¡§A day at the Traralgonraces is a great day out to take in the exhilaration of the horses as well as enjoy the fantastic food, wine, music and fashion,¡¨ Mr Northe said.
¡§This funding from the Coalition Government¡¦s Raceday Attraction Program will make a great day out at the track an even better day out, with special marquee and hamper offers as well as discount food and beverage packages.
¡§The Country Racing Spring Campaign and the Celebrate the Country Races Campaign will involve 99 racedays at 45 country racecourses across the length and breadth of regional

Member for Eastern Region Danny O¡¦Brien said the Victorian Government¡¦s Raceday Attraction Program, derived from on-course wagering taxes, aims to attract people back to the State¡¦s racetracks and target new audiences through partnerships with local communities.

Country Racing Chief Executive Officer Scott Whiteman said country racing was absolutely delighted with the funding provided from the Race Day Attraction program for the two major marketing campaigns.
¡§These major campaigns will run from September right through to Christmas Eve and their success is crucial to country racing,¡¨ Mr Whiteman said.
¡§A key element of these marketing campaigns is the countryracing.com.au website which we encourage interested racegoers to browse and see the many and varied racedays and fantastic entertainment packages.
