Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that the heart-warming movie had taken the film world by storm.

"This simple story of a kelpie who captured the hearts of the hardy residents of a mining town in the Kimberley, Western Australia proved to be as popular at the box office as it has been with the award-givers. It scooped Best Film at the recent AACTA awards.

"The film has certainly captured our imagination with its portrayal of life in the outback, spectacular scenery, quirky characters, sense of humour and touching storyline, and of course that brilliant performance by Koko the kelpie. It will be a pleasure to enjoy the movie all over again on the big screen," Ms Roberts concluded.

‘Red Dog’ (PG) directed by Kriv Stenders, written by Louis de Bernières and Daniel Taplitz.

Monday 20 February 2012 at Latrobe Performing Arts Centre, Traralgon from 7pm. Bar open from 6pm. $6 per person. LPA members are free. Bookings essential. Call the box office on 5176 3559.
