Work starts on Kurnai College upgrade
Government's upgrade on the campus for quality education towards a greater life.
Students at Kurnai College Morwell Campus are a step closer to getting the facilities they need for a great start in life, with an architect appointed to design the school’s exciting upgrade. Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing today announced that Smith and Tracey Architects have been appointed to design the school’s $2,788,000 million upgrade. The upgrade will see a new Administration Block and Landscaping completed.

More construction jobs for 100 new schools by 2026
In the past five years, the Labor Government has invested more than $9 billion in more than 1,600 school upgrades – creating more than 10,000 construction jobs – and is now ahead of schedule its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 48 new schools opening between 2019 and 2022. The Labor Government is building the Education State to ensure that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "We are absolutely determined to invest in the facilities and infrastructure that students, staff and teachers across the Valley deserve, and this is another really positive step forward for a school that consistently goes above and beyond in all that it does. Once complete, these upgrades will make a world of difference for local families, pride of place and educational outcomes."
