Making the GradeMonash Gippsland Researchers have again been successful in gaining research grants in the latest round of ARC funding. By Monash University Gippsland - 21st November 2005 - Back to News Associate Professor Rowena Barrett (Family and Small Business Research Unit, School of Business & Economics) will share $146,000 with colleagues in the WA Department of Education & Training and Edith Cowan University for her project entitled "On line training for small business: creating a best practice model".
Dr Manzur Murshed (Gippsland School of Information Technology) obtained a $168,000 ARC Discovery Grant over 3 years for his project titled "Pattern based Video Coding Techniques for Real-Time Low Bit-Rate and Low Complexity Encoding Applications". This project will benefit the National Research Priority on Frontier Technology with applications in video surveillance, smart home design and patient monitoring.
Mr John Arnold (National Centre for Australian Studies, HUMCASS) will share $544,000 with colleagues in eight universities across Australia on their project titled "AusLit – humanities research infrastructure development through knowledge-based dataset building, augmentation of key research elements & ICT development".
