Community Celebrates Youth Mentoring Tonight
Youth mentoring and its success, potential and opportunity will be celebrated today during Youth Mentoring Week.
Running from 24-30 October, Youth Mentoring Week highlighted the positives of the program which provides a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement.
Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe will be attending local celebrations today and said the program was a great way for young people to be empowered and supported.
"I will be at the Morwell Town Common from 4pm tonight to join in the festivities to mark an important day on the calendar for local youths and mentors.
"It is fantastic to see our young people developing to their fullest potential, especially when it is through a program such as this which focuses on volunteer partnerships and really focuses on creating caring and positive relationships.
"The youth are our future, and I believe that we need to be doing all we can to ensure that they have as much support as possible to help them flourish."
