Resilient Training Officially Opens A New Training Centre In Newborough

Member for Morwell Russell Northe joined with Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood to officially open the new Resilient Training workshop in Newborough today.

Mr Northe said the workshop would allow Certificate II Building and Construction students to gain further experience in the construction industry prior to undertaking an apprenticeship.

ˇ§The students undertaking the course will have the task of building an office and training room at the workshop as part of their training,ˇ¨ Mr Northe said.

ˇ§These types of tasks give students the hands-on experience they require to enter into the workforce.ˇ¨

Mr Northe said Resilient training focused on getting the unemployed back into the workforce by providing them with the training required.

ˇ§The company which has been operating since May last year, has had over 200 people undertake courses,ˇ¨ Mr Northe said.

Resilient Training also undertakes the following courses:

„h Security Operations and Crowd Control Certificate II

„h Security Operations Certificate II

„h First Aid Level 2

„h General Adult Education Certificate II

„h Food processing Certificate II

„h Cleaning operations Certificate III

„h Building and Construction Certificate II

„h Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

„h Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG)

Mr Blackwood said the Newborough centre would give local students a unique opportunity. ˇ§Providers offering courses locally is critical to ensuring students feel confident that they can obtain qualifications close to home,ˇ¨ Mr Blackwood said. ˇ§The Newborough centre is a step in the right direction for local training opportunities to help deliver base skills to build on through other training opportunities.ˇ¨

Resilient Trainingˇ¦s Business Development Manager, Peter Foster said adults of all ages were undertaking courses.

ˇ§Providing them with the right training to allow them to enter into the workforce provides all students with a real confidence boost,ˇ¨ Mr Foster said.

ˇ§Our goal at Resilient Training is to create success stories one student at a time and this is proven by over 50 students gaining a job after completing a training course.

ˇ§Reviews we have undertaken after the courses show that students are thrilled the trainers are prepared to show an interest in them and what they are doing.ˇ¨
