Wurruk Residents Have Your Say On Shared Pathway

Wurruk residents are being invited to have their say on the Wurruk to Sale Pathway Feasibility Strategy which was recently commissioned by the council with support from Sport and Recreation Victoria and the local community.

By news@gippsland - 8th July 2005 - Back to News

The need for a shared pathway linking Wurruk with Sale has been regularly raised by local residents prompting the council-funded study. The aim has been to identify the primary needs of the community and determine the viability of any proposed options for addressing the pathway issue.

A number of options for upgrading an existing pathway have been identified and feedback is being sought from a range of community and government organisations to assist with prioritising these and implementing the recommendations of the strategy.

Copies of the draft report and feedback sheets can be viewed at the Sale Library, the council’s Port of Sale Service Centre and the Wurruk Community House. Copies are also available from the council’s website at www.wellington.vic.gov.au under the ‘What’s new’ section.

Comments need to be submitted in writing before 25 July 2005 to:

Manager of Community Development

Said Wellington’s Mayor Peter Gault: "The council wants to do everything it can to help enhance the quality of life of Wurruk residents and improve their connections to Sale. We encourage all members of the Wurruk community and those who will also use the pathway to become involved in the process and provide feedback on this project."
