Bass Coast Chief Executive Officer Allan Bawden said guidelines had been established for the Ward Discretionary Fund.

"These guidelines have been set up to ensure there is an effective level of accountability," said Mr Bawden.

"They are also in place to ensure that projects supported under the Ward Funds are formally approved by Council.

Mr Bawden said all the projects had to be consistent with Council policies and strategies, have community support and be utilised by the community.

"All of these projects were also evaluated to ensure they complied with health and safety and other key legislation," said Mr Bawden.

"And where applicable, they had to meet the conditions of our master plans and design frameworks.

Mr Bawden confirmed that the remaining Ward Discretionary Funds would be presented at the Council Meeting on 7 March 2007 at Cowes.
