Gippsland kids will be able to put their skills to the test next school holidays when the Spartan Australia kids’ race comes to Baw Baw Shire for the first time, with support from the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced that Drouin’s Civic Park will be transformed into a Spartan arena on 15 and 16 April where children aged three to 13 can run, crawl, balance and climb their way through a muddy and fun-filled obstacle course.

Spartan Kids is making its way to the Latrobe Valley as part of the Labor Government’s $85 million Latrobe Valley Sports and Community Initiative.

The non-competitive, fun and family friendly course caters to kids of all abilities and fitness levels with a focus on encouraging kids to spend their school holidays outdoors and physically active.

The event is expected to attract thousands of kids from both regional Victoria and Melbourne, boosting local tourism with families visiting and staying in the region.
