Gallery Director, Louise Tegart, said that the day would be beneficial for anybody applying for funding for their next exhibition or touring exhibition, and would like to know how the decision-making process works.

"The open forum will provide the opportunity to have questions answered including tax information on such requirements as Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC), and what it means to be incorporated," Ms Tegart said.

"Representatives from major funding and support organisations include Phil Jones from Arts Victoria, Daniel Wilksch from Public Record Office Victoria, Local Government Consultant, Anne Thoday, The Australian Taxation Office and Malcolm McKinnon from the Department for Victorian Communities and Arts Victoria," Ms Tegart explained.

The workshop has been put together by the Regional Exhibitions Touring Initiative, part of Museums Australia, Victoria.

The cost of the workshop is $40 for members of Museums Australia and $80 for non-members, and includes lunch and a tour of the gallery.

Bookings can be made through Georgia Rouette or Charley Leader at Museums Australia on (03) 8341 7344 or Freecall 1800 680 082; or via email: reti@mavic.asn.au
