Northe Welcomes New Volunteer CFA Station for Newborough
$2.3 million in funds to build a new volunteer CFA station for Newborough.
Member for Morwell Russell Northe has welcomed the State Government’s announcement of $2.3 million in funds to build a new volunteer CFA station for Newborough.
On many occasions Mr Northe has championed the need for a new Newborough Fire Station given the current station is well and truly past its use by date, and not functional for its members, appliances and equipment.
"Continually over the years, indeed over the last six years or so, I along with the local volunteers at the Newborough Fire Brigade have pushed for a new station for the dedicated members" Mr Northe said.
Mr Northe applauded today’s announcement and congratulated the Newborough Fire Brigade team for their incredible service to our community over for many years, and for their perseverance and patience whilst advocating for a new station.
"The new Fire Station once completed will be a great community resource and be designed to meet the region’s current and future needs, giving the volunteers a facility to continue to keep the community safe" Mr Northe said.
"Whilst I am not certain at this early stage as to where the new station will be located, we are nonetheless buoyed by this positive news and thank the State Government for their investment" Mr Northe said.
