Hogget Kitchen and Walhalla Goldfields Railway to host winter feast on Sunday 3 July 2022 in partnership with Baw Baw Shire Council
Baw Baw Shire Council has partnered with Hogget Kitchen and Walhalla Goldfields Railway to host a winter feast for the senses in Walhalla on Sunday 3 July.
Starting with a scenic journey on the historic Walhalla Goldfields Railway, diners will be greeted at Walhalla Railway Station with mulled wine, hot chai and nibbles served fresh on the platform. They will then travel by private train through Stringers Gorge and across the Thomson River, showcasing the spectacular scenery which surrounds the historic gold mining township.

Winter feast of Gippsland's best
The next stop will be a warming three course winter lunch showcasing the region's finest produce prepared by Gippsland's very own hatted restaurant Hogget Kitchen. The menu will comprise a Christmas-in-July roast and festive dishes curated by award winning restaurateur Trevor Perkins.
Mel Beasley, Manager at the Walhalla Goldfields Railway says "Walhalla Goldfields Railway is delighted to have Hogget Kitchen and its patrons in Walhalla for this exciting event". Kylie Wilson, the General Manager at Hogget Kitchen says, "We are excited to be partnering with Baw Baw Shire Council to bring Hogget to the beautiful, historical township of Walhalla and to bring with us a Winter feast of Gippsland's best, seasonal produce."
Hogget Kitchen's winter lunch
Based in Warragul, Hogget Kitchen is renowned for their nose to tail approach, ensuring the highest standard cuts and minimal wastage. They source everything locally, building a menu around the seasons to ensure the produce is at its best. This exclusive experience will be available across two sessions on:

Tickets are available to purchase now via Eventbrite website. This event is proudly delivered by Baw Baw Shire Council and supported through the Victorian government's COVID Safe Outdoor Activation program.
