Recognition For Young Achievers Member for Morwell Russell Northe is keen to see local young people who are achieving good results and serving the community well, nominated for the Victorian Young Achiever Awards. By Russell Northe - 12th November 2013 - Back to News Mr Northe said we have many very talented and community minded young people in our community who deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts.
"I encourage community members to nominate a young person," he said.
"These awards provide us with an opportunity to say thank you to our young people at a State level.
"The search is on to give a „pat on the back‟ to our young achievers, up to 28 years of age."
The aims and objectives of the Victorian Young Achiever Awards are to encourage, reward and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young Victorians.
Nominations are being sought until the 22nd January in the following categories:
Minister for Youth Affairs Sustainability Award
Academy Graphics Regional Achiever Award
BASF Science and Technology Award
Saward Dawson Community Service and Volunteering Award
Victorian Government‟s Small Business Achievement Award
The Coffee Club Arts Award
The awards will culminate with an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner in May 2014 at Etihad Stadium. Finalists will be presented and winners announced on the night. Nominees that do not reach the finals but able to attend will be presented on stage with a framed certificate. Each category winner will receive a $2,000 prize grant and a magnificent trophy. One of the seven category winners will be chosen as the Victorian Young Achiever of the Year and will receive an additional $2,000.
Recognise a young person now and make their day! You could make the world of difference for someone‟s confidence and self-esteem by nominating them and also raise awareness of their good work.
