This winter, visit Inverloch seaside sanctuary for windswept walks, stargazing, fossil hunting, coastal adventures, and cosy beachside treats Rugged coastlineInverloch is spoiled for choice when it comes to stunning beaches and dreamy coastal drives. And who says you need to be freezing cold while enjoying the view? Hop into the car, turn up the heat and head out along the spectacular Bunurong Coastal Drive. Stop at lookouts along the way to see if you can spot seabirds, seals and perhaps even some whales. Eagles Nest and Shack Bay are the best spots to bring out the binoculars. In town, bundle up, grab a coffee and head down to the jetty. Here you might spot some local stingrays, hanging about in the calmer waters. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the inlet while these gentle giants swan about in the sea below. You're unlikely to get such close access in summer, when it's peak tourist season. After the jetty, hit the beach - just don't forget to put on a beanie. You can walk across pristine sand, experiencing the raw beauty of the coastline. If you wander across Inverloch Beach, you might spot the Amazon, a shipwreck from the 19th century. If you're feeling curious, pop over to Shack Bay to explore hidden rockpools full of marine life. And if you have your fur baby with you, there are lots of off-leash areas, so they can have a fun day at the beach, too.

Here you can lie back under the open sky and map the stars without interference from light pollution. Head down to the foreshore with a picnic blanket or visit one of the lookouts for a fantastic view. One of the best places to go stargazing in Inverloch is at Eagle's Nest. Here you will have the sculptural beauty of the ancient rock formation, coupled with the drama of the crashing waves and the wide, open sky. If it's a little too crispy to go stargazing, why not do it while soaking in a barrel full of fresh hot water? At Inverloch Glamping Co., you can stay in a beautifully furnished cabin and then stare up at the stars from the comfort of a hot tub. Have your cake and eat it, too - you can marvel at the universe while staying nice and warm.
