Have You Entered Yet?Entries are now open for the 2011 SuperPages Bass Coast Business and People’s Choice Awards. By Bass Coast - 6th May 2011 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council’s Business Development Officer, Margaret Murray, said the awards were a great way to give your business a ‘health check’.
"Just by going through the awards process you get the opportunity to stand back and see where your business has been and where it’s going," said Ms Murray
"All businesses should have received details on how to enter the awards in the mail. If you haven’t, please contact us.
"Every business in Bass Coast is eligible to enter not just those businesses registered with Australia Post."
Last year’s Retailer of the Year and People’s Choice Winner, Bradley Drew from Hillies Meats in San Remo, described entering the awards as one of the best things he had done for his business.
"Our sales definitely increased because of the extra promotion we received simply by entering the Business Awards," said Mr Drew.
"I am definitely going to enter again this year. San Remo businesses scooped the pool last year and we are going to try and do it again."
Customers can also nominate their favourite business for the People’s Choice Award.
"If you know a business that delivers service above and beyond your expectations then you should nominate them," said Ms Murray.
"Entry forms for the business awards are available at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au."
Awards close on Friday, 3 June 2011. The Business Awards will culminate in a Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday, 8 July 2011 at the Wonthaggi Workmen’s Club.
The evening is open to all businesses, not just those that have entered or been nominated, and any business can book a table for their staff and/or friends.
Because of the success of last year’s event it is suggested people book early. To book a ticket, please contact Bass Coast Shire Council’s Business Development Officer, Margaret Murray on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) email: m.murray@basscoast.vic.gov.au or book online at http://www.visitbasscoast.com/tours.asp.
