Curated by InFews, the 2007 team of Latrobe Regional Gallery Young Ambassadors, the exhibition will feature the works of artists in residence David Wakefield and Jason Sposito and, in an innovative first for the region the exhibition will be accompanied by 24 hour live streaming at the gallery.

Latrobe Regional Gallery director, Jacqui Hemsley said that the Infews philosophy is to provide creative outlets to promote change, acceptance and individual identity.

"The ‘Heavy Metal’ exhibition is dynamic and innovative and will appeal to those who like new technology as well as the dark and mysterious world of the heavy metal scene.

"The live streaming process involves a digital video camera capturing live action which is then ‘streamed’ to a website for viewing. It is the first of its kind in the region and will commence from early October. There will be a number of key events streamed live to the gallery’s website located at www.latroberegionalgallery.com," Ms Hemsley explained.

"The viewer will be able to watch artists David Wakefield and Jason Sposito as they create artworks constructed from metal.

"David Wakefield creates quirky sculptures influenced by science; and metal sculptor, Jason Sposito, describes his work as dark and often unsettling," Ms Hemsley said.

"Their artworks will be unveiled during heavy metal concerts featuring local bands ‘Necromanic’ and ‘Bleeding Sadist’ on Friday 5 October and Friday 19 October respectively," Ms Hemsley added.

"For those who cannot make it to the gallery on these dates, visit www.latroberegionalgallery.com and experience the event from your own computer," Ms Hemsley concluded.
