Homework Help at Library

Students will have an opportunity to get help with their home work in a pilot program organised by Wellington Shire Council in partnership with The Smith Family.

By Wellington Shire Council - 27th February 2007 - Back to News

The program for students in years 5-8 will provide support leading up to and during the change from primary to secondary school. The program will start in Term 2 at the Sale Library.

"The program will mean students can mix and study together and will have ready access to information resources" said Cr Beth Ripper, Mayor of Wellington Shire Council.

"It is not all hard work of course, there will be afternoon tea, ice-breakers and other activities as well providing an informal chance for a chat."

Volunteers are also being sought from the community to assist to run the program, especially from Senior Secondary students or those with teaching or tutoring experience.

The program will be held at Sale Community Library, 75 Macalister Street Sale on Wednesdays starting at 4pm.

For more information about participating or volunteering please contact Amanda Bailey, 5144 2258 or Cathy Carr, 5142 3368 from the Wellington Shire Council Library Service.
