By DSE & CFA - 23rd January 2006 - Back to News

The fires in east Gippsland are all contained except two: at Kate's Creek, 16 kilometres north of Cann River and Wild Cow, 19 kilometres north west of Orbost. The fires are five hectares and four hectares in size respectively.

DSE's Acting Regional Fire Manager, Laurie Jeremiah said that neither of these fires is causing any concern.

"It will enable us to focus on the Moondarra fire, while preparing for Wednesday and Thursday's predicted high fire danger conditions," Mr Jeremiah said.

Further information can be obtained by calling the Victorian Bushfire Information Line on 1800 240 667 or listening to ABC radio on 100.7FM.
