Information Session On Indoor Aquatics Study On Tuesday An additional community information session on the Traralgon Indoor Aquatics and Leisure Centre Feasibility Study is being held tomorrow (Tuesday 26 October 2010) at 7.30pm in the Traralgon Little Theatre.
By Latrobe City - 26th October 2010 - Back to News The additional information session follows keen discussion and interest in the study, and an extension of the feedback period, with submissions now being accepted until the close of business on Friday 3 December 2010.
Recommendations in the study identify a preferred site for a new fifty metre indoor pool complex in Catterick Crescent, Traralgon, co-located with the Traralgon Indoor Sports Stadium. The facility would be classed as a regional standard facility to service Latrobe City residents and the wider Gippsland region.
Latrobe City’s general manager recreational and cultural liveability, Grantley Switzer, said those attending will have the opportunity to talk to council officers and find out more about the contents of the feasibility report.
"The more information the community is given about the study, the more input residents will be able to provide through their feedback.
"The feedback process is designed to allow council to take into account the community’s views and suggestions, which will assist them in making an informed decision about the future of the project," Mr Switzer said.
A copy of the feasibility study is now available from all Latrobe City Council leisure centres and service centres and via Council’s website www.latrobe.vic.gov.au. Community comment on the study can be given via the website.
Written submissions will also be welcomed and can be addressed to: General Manager Recreational and Cultural Liveability, Latrobe City Council, PO Box 264, Morwell 3840. Any submission must be received prior to close of business Friday 3 December 2010.
All submissions will be considered public documents unless specified otherwise by the submitter.
