All The Drama Of Flamenco At Latrobe Performing Arts CentreThe Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon will come alive when Voyages Flamenco brings the exotic drama of Spain’s flamenco on Tuesday 4 October. By Latrobe City - 4th October 2011 - Back to News Experience a musical journey into the historical origins of traditional and contemporary Spanish flamenco, Brazilian, South American and classical Guitar.
Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that along with the music, dancers would perform, creating the sultry, sensual atmosphere associated with the genre.
"Matthew Fagan, performing on a ten-string Spanish guitar, will create the sounds of the flamenco and the dancers will create the movement leading to the ultimate in intimate sensory performances.
"The audience will be totally immersed in the emotion of the music and the superb technical ability of the dancers. The percussive, fiery movements of the dance combined with the passion of the music is not to be missed," Ms Roberts explained.
Matthew Fagan has performed as an International touring artist with Billy Connolly, The Buena Vista Social Club, Shirley Bassey, Michael Crawford and Natalie Cole. The evening will also feature guest musicians and flamenco dancers.
Voyages Flamenco will be held on Tuesday 4 October from 7.30pm at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre. The Latrobe Performing Arts Bar will be open from 6.30pm.
