Future Development- Cape Paterson North

The Cape Paterson community has a chance to speak directly with the developers who are proposing to develop land at Cape Paterson North.

By Bass Coast - 13th January 2012 - Back to News

A public meeting has been organised at the Cape Paterson Community Hall on Saturday 21 January 2012 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Bass Coast Shire Council has received a proposal to develop land north of Seaward Drive in Cape Paterson for residential use.

Director of Planning and Environment, Hannah Duncan-Jones, said that this development project is in response to the Cape Paterson strategic framework that sets out the plans for growth for Cape Paterson for the next 30 years.

"This area north of Cape Paterson was identified as a place for residential development, through the planning process.

"This means that developers can now submit a development proposal to Council for consideration," said Ms Duncan- Jones.

The community is able to give feedback on this proposal by either accessing Council’s website at http://consult.basscoast.vic.gov.au, attending the meeting to discuss the proposal with the developer and Council staff, or contacting Council on the phone contact below.

Council encourages the community to participate in this feedback opportunity as a way to influence the outcomes of this proposal, and development in this area.

In 2010, the then Minister for Planning approved the Eco village on the land to the west of the existing settlement.

"This current approach by the developers is for land to the north of the existing Cape Paterson settlement," Ms Duncan-Jones said.

If you need any assistance providing feedback, contact Stacey Skilton, Strategic Planning Administration Officer on 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
