Library week celebrations start in Latrobe City

As part of the celebrations for Library Week 2006, an ‘open book buying’ session will be held at Morwell library on Wednesday 24 May.

By Latrobe City Council - 22nd May 2006 - Back to News

Latrobe City’s library collections and promotion coordinator, Jeanette Moore, said the open book buying session will allow library members the opportunity to choose books for purchase by the library.

"They will also get a behind the scenes look at how library staff provide resources for everyday use," Ms Moore said.

Anyone interested in participating in this session can contact Jeanette Moore on 5135 8350 for details.

A book sale is being conducted by Latrobe City Friends of the Libraries from 9am Saturday 27 May at Kernot Hall. Ex-library stock can be purchased and the donations from the sales will help raise funds for improvement to Latrobe City library services.

As part of Library Week the libraries are also hosting introductory sessions for those who are new to using the internet. Sessions will be run at various times and locations during the week and will continue for a further two weeks. Contact your local library for session times and bookings.
