Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough Pool Works Add ValueAfter five weeks of significant works to rectify leaks and improve the pool surrounds, Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough’s pool has reopened to the public. By Latrobe City - 28th February 2012 - Back to News Latrobe City’s coordinator leisure facilities, William MacPherson, said that the majority of the work involved replacing and relocating the underground pipe work.
"Whilst these works to improve access to the pipes and to fix leaks were necessary, the pool closure also gave us the opportunity to undertake some much needed maintenance to further enhance the indoor pool facility.
"These included painting the structural beams, installing a winch to improve disability access to the pool as well as replacing some of the windows in the pool hall with louvre-style windows to provide ventilation. We also replaced the filter sand and the floor grating in the plant room, rendered and painted the walls in the hall and upgraded pool signage to meet current standards," Mr MacPherson explained.
"Now that the pool is open for use again, the learn to swim program has also recommenced. There are still places available on the program, with classes running from Monday to Saturday at various times. Call Cate Bowman at Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough on 5135 8330 to secure a place.
