Latrobe City Loy Yang Power International Pro Tour20 – 28 November 2010 Traralgon Tennis Club, Franklin Street, Traralgon By Latrobe City - 18th November 2010 - Back to News The Pro Tour is a series of international entry level professional tour tennis events. These events provide an opportunity for players to earn their first world ranking points, which is the livelihood of a professional player. It is also the official world pathway for a player to make the transition from juniors to professional tennis.
Mixing professional tennis with community activation, the Pro Tour sits just beneath the pinnacle of tennis events in Australia and provides the bridge between junior tournaments and Challengers and WTA Tour or ATP Tour events. The Traralgon event will see local juniors strut their stuff against those trying to make it big on the world stage.
The Pro Tour is something of a breeding ground for the world’s top players, with the regionally-staged events producing some impressive Australian champions in recent years, such as Lleyton Hewitt, Samantha Stosur, Jelena Dokic, Alicia Molik, and Peter Luczak.
