Traralgon College Takes Out Award Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe has congratulated Traralgon College for taking out the Victorian Government’s Health, Life Skills and Creative Thinking award at 2011 Victorian Rock Eisteddfod final. By Russell Northe - 7th September 2011 - Back to News "It’s an amazing achievement and all that were involved in the school’s production should be very proud," Mr Northe said.
Mr Northe said Traralgon College had delivered a stellar performance against some tough competition.
"I congratulate every young person who participated in the Rock Eisteddfod whether that be on stage or backstage and hope they enjoyed the chance to show their talents.
"I’d also like to thank the teachers and parents involved for giving up so much of their time in providing much needed support and assistance."
Mr Northe said the Victorian Coalition Government had provided $200,000 for the 2011 Rock Eisteddfod to return to Victoria this year as part of a $800,000 commitment to ensure students could participate in the event over the next four years.
"The final at Hisense Arena was a highly successful event involving over 5000 students from across Victoria and Traralgon College’s Life Skills and Creative Thinking award was a magical moment, with praise for the Traralgon students also coming from the Minister for Youth Affairs Ryan Smith," Mr Northe said.
The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge will be broadcast on Channel 9 in November 2011 where national finalists and winners will also be announced.
