Braving a wet and wild night, business owners joined representatives from sponsors Lombard The Paper People, The Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Bass Coast Shire Council for the award presentations.

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr John Duscher, said the Best Dressed Business competition, now in its tenth year, had become an integral part of the Grand Prix celebrations.

"The way our community embraces this event and the support it receives from our local business community, are key factors in making the Grand Prix such a popular event," said Cr Duscher.

"These displays by local businesses really capture the spirit of the event and show the level of support out in the community for the Grand Prix.

"Every year, the judges are impressed by the quality of the displays and I think the standard has been lifted again."

Cr Duscher congratulated all the businesses that took part in this year’s competition and thanked the sponsors for their ongoing support.

"Lombard The Paper People have been supporting the competition since its inception, which is a remarkable commitment," enthused Cr Duscher.

"The Best Dressed Business competition is a great partnership between Council, The Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Lombards and one that produces some excellent results.

"I also want to thank all the business for their efforts and extend my congratulations to all the winners and runners up."

Awards were presented to businesses in the following categories. Winners in each section received a certificate, a framed 2009 Iveco Australian Grand Prix poster and two three day grandstand tickets to the Grand Prix. Runners Up received a certificate and two Sunday general admission tickets
