Bass Coast Shire To Attract Conferences

Bass Coast Shire Council and the local tourism industry are working together to attract more conferences to the Bass Coast Shire.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 1st August 2005 - Back to News

Council’s Visitor Services Manager, Peter Francis, says that promoting the Shire as a conference destination will create economic benefits for both local businesses and the Shire itself.

"As part of Council’s marketing strategy to attract more conferences we are developing a conference page on our website, www.basscoast.vic.gov.au, and would like to invite local businesses to register their interest," advised Mr Francis.

The purpose of the conference web page is to list a range of venues across the Shire that can host conferences, as well as information to assist conference organisers in selecting a venue.

Shire Mayor, Cr Neville Goodwin, strongly encouraged interested local businesses to register.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to promote our local businesses and the Bass Coast Shire as a conference destination," he said.

The conference web page is expected to be launched in October of this year.

Businesses can register their interest by completing a registration form available from Council’s Customer Service Centres or website www.basscoast.vic.gov.au. Forms can also be mailed upon request. Registrations close Monday 22 August 2005.

For further information please contact Council’s Economic Development Project Officer, Roslyn Jenzen on (03) 5671 2211 and (03) 5951 3311.
