Free information session for young adultsWellington Shire Council is hosting a special educational health session titled ‘THAT Talk’, at the Sale Library, on Monday 6 June from 6:00pm-9:00pm. By Wellington Shire Council - 23rd May 2005 - Back to News Presented by Family Planning Victoria, the evening is targeted at young people aged 11-15 and their parents or carers, and will address important issues affecting young people that too often remain undiscussed.
The upbeat presentation addresses many topics including:
- Puberty and adolescence;
- Sexual behavior of adolescents in Australia;
- Self-esteem and sexual decision making;
- Healthy relationships;
- Communicating about sex with your child/parent;
- Local resources and services available.
The session is part of the Best Start Wellington program which is a joint initiative of Wellington Shire Council, Central Gippsland Health Service, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Human Services, Kilmany Uniting Care, Parents Representative, Ramahyuck and District Aboriginal Corporation, Rosedale Neighbourhood House and Victorian Police.
